Connections - a solo show by Kerina Mangiaracina

About the Artist - Kerina's work is a vast array of multi-media from jewelry to painting, printing and sculpture.

She traveled half around the world before the age of 15 and with a diverse upbringing she gained a broader view of the world. Kerina was born in Denver CO, moved to Alaska, Germany and then back to Alaska before settling in New York.

She worked as a Salon Owner/hair designer for more than twenty years while raising her two boys. Then, when her boys were in their teens she attended college to study the arts.

As long as Kerina can remember, creating and working with her hands is all she wanted to do. That’s why her first career was as a hair designer, it involved creativity, sculpture and the knowledge of color and technique.

Currently, Kerina spends most of her time painting, printing and making jewelry. Once in a while she'll digress and learn something new.

Artist Statement - Connections is a body of work that depicts my life as a child, wife, mother, and artist, and the relationships that have defined the agony and delight of my journey. In this body of work I am focusing on the desires of my own ego versus the needs of others, particularly the never-ending domestic cycle of cleaning up messes, literally and metaphorically

Opening Reception - Friday June 10th 5-9pm at Joy Gallery 498 1/2 West Main Street Rochester NY

Light refreshments and food provided.

Parking is off of Litchfield St. in the large parking lot.

Free event. No registration needed.
